Andean Health and Development was founded in Ecuador in 1994 to address the unmet health needs of Ecuadorean citizens. We are committed to an expanded vision of primary care based on small rural hospitals that are the focal point for comprehensive community health, championing prevention while saving the lives of children and adults every day. AHD focuses on training Ecuadorean medical and nursing staff, along with other health professionals, with the collaboration of US-based volunteer and administrative staff.
