Ceres Community Project of Marin

Ceres Community Project of Marin is the Marin County affiliate of the Ceres Community Project, founded in Sonoma County in 2007. The Marin affiliate is a separate organization operating under the Ceres brand and was founded in 2010 in order to bring the Ceres concept to the Marin community. The youth development component brings local teens into a professional kitchen and teaches cooking skills as well as nutritional education. The meals prepared by the teens under the direction of the chef and adult mentors are delivered free to people facing cancer and other serious illness in the Marin community.

Ceres Community Project works to build healthy communities by restoring fresh, whole organic food to its place as the foundation of health, and by connecting people in heart-centered ways to themselves, others and the earth. It operates through an integrated model that gives teens experiences of growing and preparing healthy food, provides those facing life-threatening illnesses with nourishing meals, and educates the larger community about the connection between food, healing and wellness.
