  • Acerca de

Lyndhurst seeks to preserve and educate the public about A. J. Davis’ masterpiece, the Lyndhurst mansion, one of the finest homes of 19th century America. It is our objective to use architecture, art, and landscape to help contemporary audiences understand how Americans developed unique social patterns following the end of the Federal period. We focus on the years between 1824, when the Erie Canal was opened, to 1873, when the first major global financial panic strikes—a period when New York City and the Hudson River Valley become the economic and industrial center of the United States.
