Acerca de

The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe, New Mexico, is dedicated to the artistic legacy of Georgia O'Keeffe, her life, American Modernism, and public engagement. The Museum opened to the public in July 1997, eleven years after the death of the artist from whom it takes its name. Welcoming more than 2,225,000 visitors since that time from all over the world and being the most visited art museum in the state of New Mexico, it is the only American museum in the world dedicated to an internationally-known woman artist.

The Museum is the largest single repository of O'Keeffe's work in the world, and is the place people rely upon for accurate information and scholarship about the artist, the aesthetic by which she lived, and the history of American Modernism. Through its exhibitions, research, educational programs and collaborations in the US and internationally, the Museum provides knowledge, inspiration and stimulation to current and future audiences.

The Museum, Research Center, Education Annex and administrative offices are located two blocks from the historic Plaza in Santa Fe. The Museum also owns Georgia O'Keeffe's home and studio in Abiquiu as well as her home in Ghost Ranch. O'Keeffe moved from New York to make New Mexico her permanent home in 1949, and lived in either of these historic properties until 1984, when she moved to Santa Fe.
