COASTAL PRESERVATION NETWORK is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit environmental organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring the shoreline and environment of Northeast Queens and Long Island and thereby safeguarding the health of residents who live here. We work to find and report shoreline polluters, preserve and clean our valuable local greenspaces, divert organic waste and increase composting, replenish oysters and replant wetlands, expand public access to the waterfront, and fight careless overdevelopment along our coast.
Through community composting, shoreline cleanups, seagrass and oyster plantings, research, and parks advocacy, Coastal is creating more vibrant waterfronts and parks, reconnecting the public to their coastal environment, and strengthening community service and pride.
