The Butterfly House is a mixed age preschool located on the grounds of the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia. The Butterfly House was established in 1986 to provide a high quality child development center for the students and faculty of the Virginia Theological Seminary. Our mission, supported by the entire Virginia Theological Seminary, is to actively support the social-emotional skills in our children through mixed age, child-directed, play based learning. This results in their readiness for success in kindergarten and in a multicultural society.
