Sacred Rok

Sacred Rok is a small Yosemite-based nonprofit led by renowned rock climber Ron Kauk. Our mission is to support youth in nature, helping them learn to respect nature and as a result to respect themselves. Ron leads trips to Yosemite National Park for young people from Merced and elsewhere in Northern California, helping them learn to sit by the river or on a rock, experiencing the ceremony of nature and learning to be human again. Sacred Rok has a years long relationship with juvenile hall in Merced County, which brings incarcerated youth to Yosemite to hike, camp, and do volunteer work. Sacred Rok also leads trip to Pinnacles National Park for incarcerated youth from San Benito County.
