New parents will be matched with a trained, experienced parent mentor who can offer parenting information, referrals to local resources, and sometimes most critically, validation and a sympathetic ear -- all through text messages.

NurtureNW is the product of a collaborative partnership between NurturePA and Committee for Children. Building off the growth and success of a small & mighty non-profit in Pittsburgh, PA, the (equally small & mighty) Innovation Team at Committee for Children saw an opportunity to support the social and emotional growth and development of children from the very beginning of life. Providing new parents encouragement and support early on helps to relieve stress and build healthy habits, leading to better behavioral, cognitive, and developmental outcomes for children.
