Acerca de

Many smallholder farmers in West Africa lack the access to the knowledge, finance, technology, and markets which they need to generate a sustainable income from their farms. Additionally, climate change is severely affecting weather patterns in sub-Saharan Africa thus small-scale farmers can no longer accurately predict when to plant their crops, leaving them in urgent need of climate-risk mitigating knowledge and technologies, like drought-resistant seeds and irrigation.

MITA empowers smallholder farmers in remote areas in West Africa to establish sustainable livelihoods, find their way out of extreme poverty and catalyze change in their rural communities. We envision a future in which every smallholder family has the knowledge and means to achieve big harvests, support healthy families and prosper with dignity.

To achieve our mission, we rely strongly on the following core values and principles:

  1. Humility
  2. Confidentiality
  3. Hard work
  4. Leadership
  5. Continuous improvement
  6. Integrity
