IPRS conducts R&D in health and environmental sciences, encourages technology transfer and provides a service of listing resources for those dealing with various disabilities.

Health research and advocacy is focused on mineral (magnesium) metabolism and nutrition. Research includes genomics and proteomics discovery and computer modeling. Environmental research is directed toward developing and implementing solutions for air pollution (from motor vehicles) and waste disposal/energy recovery (plastics). A novel thermal device for breaking down pollutants is being developed.
