North Carolina Urban Forest Council

The Mission of the NCUFC is to advocate the sustainability of North Carolina's urban forests through the use of economic, human, and environmental resources. We have the following five goals:

1. Inform and educate Council membership and the general public about the latest news and developments in urban forest management. By using mulitple forums and tools for education and outreach, we will motivate and empower North Carolina residents to protect and use urban and community forest resources in a sustainable manner.
2. Promote public interest and participation in the Council’s mission, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and relevance in the eyes of North Carolina citizens.
3. Encourage professional development by providing forums to exchange ideas and foster individual growth and maturity.
4. Engage in strategic planning and advocacy to move the organization forward with vision, while monitoring and pursuing issues that are relevant to the Council's mission.
5. Identify resources needed to sustain the organization in its pursuit of the stated mission, including financial, human, and environmental resources.
