Help For Homelessness and Beyond Inc

Our mission is to create distancing in the communities we serve via housing support and resources, training, elimination of barriers, and empowerment.

Help For Homelessness and Beyond Inc. is a 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit founded in 2016 on a simple conviction: no family should face homelessness or hunger without support , because our founder once fled with five small children and nobody would take them in for even one night. That lived experience shapes everything we do. We are led by the community we serve, and young people don't just participate in our programs — they help run them.

We serve under-resourced youth age 4–24, families facing food insecurity, survivors of domestic violence, and youth aging out of foster care across Inkster/Detroit, Michigan and Columbus, Ohio. Our values are youth leadership, radical accessibility, and meeting people where they are: 24 youth host and produce our "I Love Myself More" mental health podcast, choosing their own topics; our summer meal program served 132 youth in 2026; our pantry has provided 29,130 meals; and we distribute 480 winter coats annually. HHB was honored as Best NonProfit 2025 at the Ohio MBE Awards.
