Fast Rake 2025 - Honoring Our Heroes

Volunteers are needed to assist with "Operation Fast Rake 2025". Each year we help local senior citizen and disabled military veterans clean up their yards. Kind of an "above and beyond" way to thank veterans for their service. "Operation Fast Rake" is now in its 5th year of helping local veterans complete the task of clearing the annual leaf drop from their lawns. Usually conducted during the first two weekends in November (right around Veterans Day), we have teams cleaning up yards here in Lake County. If you're looking for a few hours of volunteer work and you're in fairly good physical shape, come out and join us this November. Gloves, Rakes, Free T-Shirts, and snacks are provided. Students, Student Athletic Groups, Employee Volunteer Groups, are all welcome. Please email us by 10/24/2025 to get in on this year's mission.

Our Mission: To recognize and honor veterans and former first responders by providing free home repairs, safety modifications and maintenance services for those that are physically and/or financially unable to complete these tasks themselves. Additionally, we will develop programs that assist and encourage others to seek a life of service to our nation and our communities.

Our Impact: Since we began helping the veterans and former first responders of Northeastern Ohio in 2020, we have honored over one hundred fifty local heroes. We’ve replaced some roofs, installed gutter guards, replaced defective air conditioning units, installed a few wheelchair ramps, replaced decks and front steps, installed new HVAC systems, made accessibility modifications, installed some ceiling fans, replaced defective lighting, installed new doors, repaired windows, replaced gutters, repaired extensive interior water damage, cleaned gutters, installed new water heaters, made roof repairs, raked yards, helped with landscaping, and much more. Last year we employed over 80 volunteers and spent more than $70,000 (including in-kind material donations) making essential repairs, safety modifications, and providing maintenance services, for disabled and disadvantaged veterans.
