Our collection comes from the families, businesses, farms, and organizations in our districts. We actively seek new materials to add to the collection, so that our story may become richer and more complete. We care for these materials through public donations, so they will be available for future generations.
Our exhibits use these materials to engage visitors in our story, and to help young people gain a new perspective and fuel their imaginations. The museum and its programs are operated completely by volunteers and through public donations. We receive no local government funding for our facility or operations.
Programs include having the museum open regular hours, staffed by volun teers to greet and chat with visitors; guiding and engaging students through the museum during field trips; helping researchers look through materials; transcribing and data entry projects.
