That's over 35,000 elephants a year shot or poisoned for meaningless trinkets like jewelry or religious statues. Elephants - a beloved, keystone species - will be extinct in less than ten years if we don't bring poaching and the ivory trade to an immediate end.
March for Elephants, a global, grass roots organization, is dedicated to promoting awareness about the elephant crisis, advocating for cessation of poaching and fiercely working to shut down the ivory trade.
This year's march will be on Saturday, October 4th. Please join us!Over 100 cities around the world have already signed up and are planning their marches. This year we're including rhinos in our mission since they're dangerously close to extinction themselves.
Bay Area Volunteers Especially WelcomeOver 700 people marched in San Francisco last October so we have a lot of work to do. Event planning, publicity, tabling, volunteer management and fundraising are just some of the ways you can help.
