Incorporated as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization in July 1970, OIC of New London County, Inc. has over 40 years experience providing employment training and self-sufficiency services for economically and educationally disadvantaged individuals. Recognized for the quality and consistency of our services, OIC is committed to “helping people help themselves” through a wide range of skill development and supportive services. Over the course of the agency’s existence, it has worked with over 30,000 adults across all of its programs, adding an estimated $69 million to the community in the value of the agency’s services.
OIC’s programs benefit low-income individuals as they learn, often for the first time, skills and strategies for living a successful life – not simply the specific, job-content focused skills needed for work, but also the soft skills of effective communication, time management, financial management, and decision-making. Clients leave OIC well-prepared for the future and able to secure meaningful employment to improve their lives.
