Center for Rural Empowerment and Agricultural Transformation for Sustainability

CREATS is a Community-Based Organization in Homa Bay County, Kenya. The CBO was founded in 2015 by a group of community members passionate about social justice and poverty alleviation. Our founders realized that the problems of hunger and poverty in Homa Bay can be solved brick by brick, through agricultural transformation, economic and women empowerment, and environmental conservation driven by the community at the forefront through collaboration with other stakeholders and partners.

CREATS provides the community with the necessary tools to transform lives and aims to create social change and unleash the economic potential of the community. To achieve hunger and poverty alleviation, we emphasize on agricultural capacity building, market and financial linkages, and small enterprise development, and policy advocacy. CREATS’ goals also stretch beyond the community level.

Our organization idea for growth is to disseminate the information, embracing of innovation and technologies among smallholder farmers to achieve inclusive sustainable development leaving no one behind.
