Liemandt Foundation

The Liemandt Foundation is putting on Lemonade Day, which is a free, community-wide, educational initiative designed to teach children how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. Through this enterprise, children will learn the entrepreneurial skills necessary to be successful in the future and become contributing members of their communities. The children will go through certain steps such as setting goals, finding an investor, selecting a site, creating advertising, building a stand, comparison shopping for the best supplies, making the lemonade, hiring employees, learning how to manage money, gaining customer service skills and so much more. The best part of the program is that after covering their expenses and paying back their investors, the children can keep what they earn with the encouragement to open a youth savings account so their profits can continue to grow as well as to give a portion of their earnings to a charity of their choice.
