METAvivor Research and Support

Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) takes the lives of over 40,000 Americans each year. METAvivor believes that research is the key to changing that fact. METAvivor was founded in 2009 and is the only national non-profit to award competitive grants specific to MBC research. To date we have awarded 14 grants totally nearly $850,000.

METAvivor also provides support to patients living with MBC. Our in-person peer-led support group in Maryland serves as a model for other groups, and we are expanding this work around the country.

METAvivor also educates the public on the unique needs of the MBC patient community, the dire statistics, the lack of support and the fact that metastasis research is severely underfunded. 

METAvivor's activities have captured the attention of many patients and interested parties who find great satisfaction in being part of the solution, and our efforts are expanding. Our supporters urge increased MBC research funding and raise valuable dollars for METAvivor's annual MBC research grants.
