Company Overview
The Lexington Fair Housing Council provides free legal assistance to victims of housing discrimination throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We investigate complaints of discrimination under local, state, and federal laws; litigate fair housing cases; and develop fair housing law in state and federal courts.
We also provide professional training and community education on fair housing law to housing providers, tenants, realtors, home buyers and sellers, mortgage lenders, home and rental insurance companies, architects, builders---anyone involved in housing! We welcome individuals and agencies to consult with our legal staff to insure compliance with fair housing law.
Description
State and federal fair housing law prohibits discrimination in the sale or rental of housing on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, familial status, and disability.
Local fairness ordinances in Louisville, Lexington, Covington, Vicco, Frankfort, Morehead, and Danville also prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
