Pharo School Homosha

We are a small boarding school for high school aged young women, located in Benishangul Gumuz Region, Ethiopia. The Pharo School is funded by the Pharo Foundation and provides a fully funded 4 year high school education and boarding experience to young women who reside in one of the poorest regions of Ethiopia.

Extending over 3.4 hectares, with over 7,000 square metres of purposely designed educational space, the school is the first of its kind in the region; a modern educational and boarding campus with a 240 female student capacity, aiming to offer the best educational opportunities to bright, driven young women from across the region. Our focus on female education is a response to the challenges females face in accessing high quality secondary schooling.

Now in its third year of operation, with a current student population of 130 students, and access to computer technology, the school’s well-resourced facility and dedicated team of educators seek to rapidly accelerate student learning and English skill development, while building confidence, creativity and critical thinking skills. The school’s goal is to see each student pursue post-secondary education and become leaders and role models in their respective communities. Our goal is to nurture our students' and staff's capacity to imagine, innovate and lead, evoking a passion for excellence.
