Founded in 1974, The Sun is a nonprofit, ad-free monthly magazine that publishes an eclectic mix of personal essays, fiction, interviews, poetry, and photographs. Our commitment to presenting honest, real voices sets us apart from other, more academic literary magazines. Our goal is to publish writing and photography that fosters compassion through greater awareness of our shared experience, and that honors both individual perspectives and our common humanity.
