Our mission is to create a structure that enables meaningful, long-term dialogue between people, their communities, and their representatives.

The average member of Congress represents over 760,000 people. That's simply too many for the average person to be heard, not to mention giving members and their staff a very difficult job. Congressional Communities is changing that, not by redrawing district lines, but by mapping every district into community-sized 'Congressional Communities' of about 45,000 people. Our goal is to connect residents to the advocacy groups, professional associations, and civic organizations already active (or wishing to be active) where they live. This will lead to more meaningful conversations with representatives and their staff, greater influence for advocacy groups, and a more informed, engaged democracy. We're a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) building something our democracy needs: The connective tissue representative democracy has been missing.
