Stratford Hall was is the home of the Lees of Virginia including Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee, the only brothers to sign the Declaration of Independence, and birthplace of Robert E. Lee.


The site encompasses 1900 acres on a high bluff overlooking the Potomac River. Built in the 1730s, the Great House contains some of the most architecturally significant rooms of the Colonial era. The site includes nature trails, a gristmill and formal gardens.


Stratford Hall offers over 30 fun and education events every year and offers daily tours of the Great House. Lodging and dining is also offered onsite.
