Tremble Clefs San Diego (TCSD) was founded in 1994 and became a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in 2016. TCSD, Inc.’s purposes are to (a) engage people affected by Parkinson’s Disease in group singing, using therapeutic techniques which strengthen the voice; (b) create a supportive learning environment and strong social support system; and (c) educate the public, via community performances, regarding the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease as well as showcase the capabilities of people living with those challenges. TCSD, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.
People with Parkinson’s Disease may become isolated as it progresses and affects mood, vocal communication, facial expression and ability to move. In addition to the therapeutic effects of learning and performing songs, Tremble Clefs provides fellowship opportunities, an atmosphere of acceptance and connections to seniors, youth, veterans and other communities in San Diego County. All are important parts of Tremble Clefs’ organizational culture.
