Acerca de

Our mission is to provide a voice for abused and neglected children.

Our work is based upon the belief that all children deserve a safe and permanent home.

Child Advocates of Fort Bend was incorporated in 1991 to help children who were falling through the cracks of the child welfare system. Overburdened caseworkers and attorneys could not provide children with the attention they deserved, and as a result of the system, although designed to help children in crisis, was often making it worse. CAFB currently offers two major programs in order to best serve these children involved in both the civil and criminal systems. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates™) trains community volunteers to serve as Guardian ad Litem who represent the best interest of children as they travel through the foster care system to safety and permanency. CAC (Children’s Advocacy Center) coordinates the criminal investigative process, provides a child-centered and safe place for children to tell their stories of sexual abuse or other serious forms of abuse, and offers therapy to help children heal from their trauma.
