The Mount Sinai Medical Center’s mission is to provide the highest quality patient care, with compassion, understanding and a commitment to community service for patients of all races, religions and creeds. As a leader in culturally competent service provision, Mount Sinai has partnered with the community to improve the health status of the residents that it serves. To achieve this goal, the Medical Center’s priorities are to: 1) address and reduce chronic disease health disparities; 2) reduce access barriers to medical care; 3) improve maternal and women’s health; 4) support the healthy physical and mental development of children and adolescents; 5) maintain health and reduce institutional care for the elderly; 6) prevent and treat infectious diseases; and 7) improve cardiovascular health.
