The Animal Rescue League (ARL) is a non-profit association dedicated to protecting Dakar’s street animals through vaccination, sterilization, advocacy, and helping to find homes for these animals when possible. ARL does not have a shelter and relies on foster homes while animals receive care or transition to new homes. The association was started in 2012 by members of the community and veterinarians in Dakar to address the problem of homeless and abandoned animals.
