Foundation for Development and Relief Africa

FIDRA started a journey as a partnership of young people, churches and local organizations committed to ending poverty. Our single aim was to strengthen health service delivery focusing mostly on maternal and child health service delivery to ensure that No child or Mother dies while giving birth or after birth due to poverty. We later discovered the empowerment, freedom, and opportunity that an empowered community can bring. Our roots then created access to critical resources, increase income, and improve rural livelihoods. The model worked so well that we decided to apply the same model to more productive livelihood programs to give women, youth and children more opportunities to invest in their future. We are working to ignite the ability of girls, youth and young women to create and access opportunities that lift then out of poverty and improve their lives
