The volunteers of Travelers Aid at Washington Union Station provide rail and bus travelers with information concerning the Washington metropolitan area. Our two professional social workers are also available to offer social service support to individuals and families encountering challenges in life as well as challenges in their travel plans.
Travelers Aid/Union Station is operated by Travelers Aid International and its services are funded by the District of Columbia and private donations. In 2016, the program assisted more than 212,425 travelers and an additional 1,325 social service cases. The 20 volunteers at Union Station gave 4,921 hours of service back to the community.
