Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy

The Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy is committed to advancing women's participation in public life. Recognizing the talent and potential of women from every community, and guided by the urban mission of an intellectually vibrant and diverse university in the heart of Boston, we seek to expand the involvement of women in politics and policies that affect them, their families, and their communities.

The mission of the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy is to promote women's leadership in politics and policymaking by providing graduate education, conducting research that makes a difference in women's lives, and serving as a resource for women from diverse communities across Massachusetts, New England, and the nation. We are affiliated with the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at UMass Boston and each year we enroll twenty five women in our one-year graduate certificate program. We also hold public forums on a wide range of issues of concern to women and offer substantive internship opportunities.
