Surfcat Cafe & Adoptions

Surfcat is a 501c3 organization that has been rescuing cats from our local shelters with help from our network of fosters and adopting them into forever homes since August 2015. With the success of organizations such as Cat Town in Oakland and Crumbs & Whiskers in LA, our vision for saving cats in Ventura is a Surfcat Café! Part lounge, part cat adoption center, we want to invite the community to visit with a group of adoptable cats in a relaxing environment that is designed to keep resident cats content. 

Cats that may not seem adoptable in a shelter often thrive when placed in a cage-free environment. This helps them find homes and helps the Ventura County Animal Shelter maintain its no-kill mission. We also want to provide a place where people who may not be able to have a cat at home can come and enjoy the company of cats in a relaxing setting. Everybody wins!

Our goal is to secure funding to begin building the adoption center first, then add a café in phase two. Surfcat Café & Adoptions will be more than a cat café, however, Surfcat will also be dedicated to educating the community about cat care, and responsible animal stewardship.
