The mission of the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation (MCPSEF) is to ensure every student thrives by mobilizing community support, championing a well-rounded education, and whole child supports and services. We invest in programs that meet the diverse needs of learners, direct resources to those who benefit most, and work to close opportunity and achievement gaps across the district.

Montgomery County Public Schools is the largest school district in Maryland with over 150,000 students, 25,000 employees, and 211 schools. Montgomery County's diversity is one of it's greatest strengths (students speak over 180 languages and come from 160 countries) and also one of it's greatest challenges because despite a more than $3.5B budget, achievement and opportunity gaps persist in the county. This is where MCPSEF steps in to try to ensure a child's zip code should not determine the quality of their education.
