Girls Justice Initiative of Alameda County

  • Acerca de

The Girls Justice Initiative (GJI) is a project of United Way of the Bay Area (UWBA) that provides gender responsive programs to both female and male youth. Its San Francisco programs serve primarily young women, in detention and as they transition back to the community. Our new Oakland-based services provide counseling as well as violence prevention groups to male and female youth affected by violence. The aim of our interventions is to prevent clients from re-victimization, perpetration of violence, or getting involved or further involved with the juvenile justice system.
