Franklin Academy

Franklin Academy provides students with Asperger’s Syndrome or nonverbal learning differences the academic and social skills to become life-long learners, to pursue college and career goals, and to enjoy fulfilling lives.

We are a college preparatory program designed for students with Asperger’s Syndrome or nonverbal learning disabilities (NLD). We serve boarding and day students in grades eight through PG (Postgraduate) with 90% of our students boarding. Our approach to education is non-traditional in that we deliver an interdisciplinary curriculum with the primary focus on skill development.

Franklin Academy is located in East Haddam, Connecticut along the beautiful and scenic Connecticut River. Our 75-acre rural campus is situated next to a 700-acre nature preserve, which runs along the river. We are located halfway between Old Saybrook (a resort community on the CT coast) and Middletown (home of Wesleyan University). We are 40 minutes to Hartford and New Haven and 90 minutes to New York City and Boston.
