Salix Compass

Salix Compass is a nonprofit initiative, fiscally sponsored by Evergreen Social Impact, working to eliminate cost as a barrier to life-saving medications. We focus on rural patients, low-income seniors, and veterans in Washington and across the Pacific Northwest.

The challenge we address is the Rural Complex Care Gap: patients in rural communities face delays or denials in treatment due to the overwhelming administrative burden of Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs). Clinics are understaffed, the process is manual and prone to errors, and patients are left waiting for critical medications.

Our solution is expert navigation supported by secure, HIPAA-compliant technology. We help clinics complete PAP paperwork, track renewals, and connect patients with resources. Our model is built on newly billable CMS codes, making it sustainable for clinics and free for patients.

Volunteers are essential to this mission. From preparing patient packets to researching clinics and keeping our data organized, every volunteer helps patients access treatment more quickly and avoid incurring excessive costs. Join us to make a direct impact on healthcare equity in rural communities.
