Our Mission: The Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus (PGMC) promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and LGBTQ+ awareness through exceptional musical performance, while fostering support, advocacy, and acceptance in the Greater Philadelphia area and beyond.
Our Vision: A community that celebrates differences and a chorus that inspires change.
The Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus (PGMC) is one of the nation’s longest-running LGBTQ+ choral organizations and traces its history to 1981, when founder Gerald Davis and three other members toured Philly's gay bars at Christmastime, singing carols and has grown into a vibrant ensemble of more than 170 members of varying identities and gender expressions.
PGMC continues to entertain audiences, support communities, and foster LGBTQ+ awareness through exceptional musical performance of TTBB pieces spanning classical choral works, new commissions, and popular music.
PGMC presents at least two mainstage concerts every year as well as performs in the annual Together concert with fellow LGBTQ+ groups ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir, Philadelphia Voices of Pride, and Transcendent Choir of Philadelphia. The chorus has had the honor of performing in many venues including Carnegie Hall, the Academy of Music, the National Constitution Center, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and World Stage (formerly World Café Live) among others. PGMC has also performed alongside artists like Cyndi Lauper, Hugh Jackman, Rufus Wainwright, Patti Lupone, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
