Acerca de

The East Harlem School at Exodus House, a community-centered middle school, seeks African-American and Latino students from the neighborhood who are intelligent but have not been academically successful. Our goal, structured upon a year-round school program, is to develop in our students a sense of themselves as creative, self-reliant, and responsible members of the East Harlem community and American society. Our school emphasizes intellectual, moral, aesthetic, physical, and social development, and the belief that a school should be the vehicle for adolescents to develop. Through focused exploration, cooperative learning, interdisciplinary study, and community service, our students augment their awareness, appreciation, and mastery of their immediate environment and the world surrounding that environment.
