The Winston School of Short Hills

The Winston School is an independent school located in Short Hills, New Jersey that enrolls children in grades 1-8 who have reading, writing, math, and executive functioning challenges. Many children at Winston are dyslexic, and may have ADHD, auditory processing disorders or dyscalculia. The school is governed by a Board of Trustees and a Head of School is the chief operating officer. Winston was established as a non-profit organization in 1981. The School currently enrolls 90 students. Winston is accredited through the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The goal of a Winston education is to provide students with the confidence, optimism, and academic skills to “move on” to college-preparatory programs at regional independent schools, religiously affiliated high schools, public high schools, and boarding schools.
