Third Millennium Alliance
Acerca de
Third Millennium Alliance is a nonprofit organization working to preserve the most threatened tropical forest in the world – the last Pacific Forests of coastal Ecuador. Our first step was to establish the Jama-Coaque Ecological Reserve, which protects one of the last major remnants of tropical rainforest and cloud forest that still survives in the region. In the middle of the reserve is the Bamboo House” Research Station, for biological investigation, sustainable systems research, and agro-forestry demonstration, where we grow our own food and manage the land according to the principles of permaculture design. We are currently engaged in several joint projects with the neighboring communities, including a local coffee co-op, a community learning center, and native agro-forestation projects with farmers.
