Co-op Hudson Valley supports the development of democratically governed, worker-owned businesses, known as cooperatives (co-ops). We do this by offering high touch cooperative and business development services along with access to lending capital.
As a member organization of Seed Commons, Co-op HV has access to a shared pool of lending capital totaling over $40 million. Seed Commons has built a national network of community-based organizations that invest in and support local co-ops. Together, 99% of every dollar invested goes to low income people, and 92% is invested in businesses that are BIPOC-owned (Black Indigenous or People of Color) and 63% of the portfolio is invested in businesses owned by women, queer, and transgender people.
