Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation

Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation aims to improve the lives of women and children in Africa through opportunity and education. We do this through three programs:

Lights for Learning: This program enables school going children, in rural communities to study in a safer and cleaner environment by providing solar lanterns. Since 2012, NECF has provided 4,656 Kenyan children with solar lights in 60 schools.

Nancy's Playgrounds: Nancy always stressed the importance of play in child development. "Kids must play!" She stated on almost a daily basis. Through Nancy's Playgrounds, NECF builds playgrounds for children who otherwise would have little access to a safe place to play. 

Nancy's Gardens: NECF will plant vegetable gardens at schools to supplement their food programs. Our aim is to educate children on how to grow their own nutritious food, organically. Students will gain life skills they can use to support themselves and their communities in the future.
