Acerca de

The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) provides men and women, aged 50 and better, opportunities to serve others, to address social injustice, and to transform lives. IVC enables mature men and women to offer their talent, wisdom, skills and experience in direct service among people who are materially poor through volunteer work in nonprofit agencies, and provides the tools needed to reflect on the meaning of their experiences.

Ignatian Volunteers pledge two days per week of service for at least one year, and most stay well beyond that. IVC builds on existing community resources by developing partnerships with local nonprofit agencies that serve the poor. The partner nonprofits view Ignatian Volunteers as part-time staff people who bring a lifetime of experience and expertise to their work.

In addition to volunteering, Ignatian Volunteers participate in a yearlong program of reflection and prayer, relating to their volunteer experiences in deeply personal and spiritual ways.
