Shalupe Foundation

Shalupe Foundation is a non-profit organization serving primarily women and youth in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, focusing on refugees and victims of rape and violence. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in response to ongoing violence in the DRC. In addition to our Boston office, Shalupe operates various centers and shelters around DRC the provide services such as shelter, education, job training, employment and health education; all these efforts are geared towards creating sustainable futures for these women.

Shalupe means lifeboat, and today this lifeboat needs your support. Shalupe is unique in that it is established by Congolese natives who truly understand the plight of the Congolese. Now we are launching a new stage in our development with fundraising and building a larger network here in the US to support and fight for Women's and Children's welfare. In addition to our work on the group in the Congo, we seek to educate the American public about raped women and children in the Congo.
