  • Acerca de

Communities United For Action (CUFA) is a coalition of individuals and neighborhood groups who join together to improve the greater Cincinnati community for everyone. CUFA has worked to increase homeownership, improve the environment, and ensure vital services remain available in our community.

CUFA’s members come from a wide range of socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. CUFA trains our members to become strategic, dynamic leaders who can push for real improvements in our community. Working together, we have made significant improvements for Cincinnati’s low and moderate-income communities.

    Some of CUFA’s victories include:

    • Negotiated Community Reinvestment Agreements with the major banks to make money available for home and business loans in low and moderate income communities resulting in investments of over $800 million in these neighborhoods.
    • Won a Vacant Foreclosed Building Ordinance to hold lender accountable for maintaining vacant properties.
    • Pushed Cincinnati to become the first city in the United States to have an Environmental Justice Ordinance.
    • Meetings with Cabinet members—the US Attorney General, the Secretary of the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. These meetings produced more programs to make low and moderate income neighborhoods more liveable.
    • Won City’s curbside recycling program as an alternative to a mass burn incinerator.
