SAM provides a welcoming place for people to connect with art and to consider its relationship to their lives. SAM is one museum in three locations: Seattle Art Museum downtown, Seattle Asian Art Museum at Volunteer Park, and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the downtown waterfront. The Seattle Art Museum is an encyclopedic museum with collections housed in three locations: the newly expanded downtown building with galleries displaying a selection of the museum's holdings in Asian, African, Northwest Coast Native American, European, American, Modern and Contemporary Art; theSeattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park, which focuses on the museum's significant holdings of Asian art; and the Olympic Sculpture Park which connects modern and contemporary sculpture and environment in a stunning urban waterfront setting.
