Cloudbridge is a private nature reserve in Costa Rica. It was created to preserve and reforest an important gap in the cloud forest adjoining the Chirripo National Park, on the slopes of Mt. Chirripo, the highest peak in Costa Rica.
The main purpose of the reserve is to help rebuild a part of the tropical cloud forest, bridging a gap between two mountainside forests. As well as protecting the existing forest and allowing natural regrowth, we are planting a mix of native trees, thousands of them, to turn pasture back into forest.
The local community's participation in the project is an integral aspect, and the reserve includes a project of sustainable reforestation for future harvesting.
Cloudbridge welcomes volunteers and interns to assist with scientific research, tree planting, and trail maintenance.
