TENNESSEE FARM WINEGROWERS ALLIANCE

Founded in 1982, the Tennessee Farm Winegrowers Alliance (TFWA) is a coalition of the wineries, farm wineries, and vineyards throughout the great state of Tennessee. We support and encourage the production of commercial grapes and wines within the state as a viable agricultural value-added industry. One major way we generate awareness for wineries across the state is through out 'Sip TN Wine Festival' series, which are wine festivals held throughout the year in different parts of the state.

Today we are spearheading the efforts for advancing Tennessee grape interests, including promotion, education, and legislation. We have worked hard to grow this into a major agri-business in Tennessee. We grew from just 24 wineries in 2001 to over 100 winery licenses today. The TFWA's successes have greatly reduced barriers of entry to our industry as well as create new opportunities for business growth. These successes are, in part, ascribed to the expansion of winery tasting rooms, changes in shipping laws, changes in tax laws, and the creation of the Wine and Grape Board.
