Kendall Square Association
Acerca de
The Kendall Square Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization created in 2009 with a mission to improve, protect and promote Kendall Square. The KSA represents all the major private companies, public institutions, and non-profits in Kendall Square.
Kendall Square Association was formed by a group of like-minded people who envision Kendall Square growing and thriving over the coming decades as a diverse co-location of multiple sectors including a world-leading collection of biotech companies, such as Genzyme, Novartis, Biogen-IDEC, Amgen, the Broad Institute and the Whitehead; a cluster of high tech innovative companies, including Akamai, Google, Microsoft, ITA Software and VMWare; more than 1,000 startups, many emerging from MIT's entrepreneurial culture and hosted at the CIC incubator; and land development companies such as Alexandria, Biomed, Boston Properties, Twining Properties and MIT Real Estate. In recent years several real estate companies have created a wide range of high-end residential living options, driving demand for more local services and entertainment options.
The KSA's governance includes a 20-member board of directors with a 5-member officer group. Board committees focusing on programs that strengthen the vitality of Kendall Square and its community include Retail, Community Involvement, Transportation, Development, and Marketing & Events.
