CDI is one of Latin America's most distinguished nonprofit organizations, having received more than 40 international awards since its inception in 1995. CDI's primary mission is to promote the social inclusion of underprivileged populations by using technology to fight poverty, stimulate entrepreneurship, and empower poor youth and adults to change their realities. The CDI model focuses on digital and civic education and encourages students to use technology as a tool to create and implement social advocacy campaigns with the goal of tackling problems facing their communities such as human rights, violence, unemployment, drugs, health, etc.
